Megan + Alex // Cannon Beach Wedding
The light on this day is something I’ll never forget. It was pure perfection, as is the love between these two kind, generous and sweet people.
Megan and Alex are from Nebraska like me and I was so excited to capture them during their intimate Cannon Beach wedding. They love the PNW and Oregon is a place that means a lot to them. I was overjoyed to make the trek down from Seattle to be a part of their day. I captured what I consider the best image of 2015, which I put at the beginning of this post. So happy to finally share this wedding! Thank you for all your openness to hop around a few spots during portraits, Megan and Alex! It really made the day come together beautifully.

***I do want to mention that I submitted this wedding to 8 different wedding blogs and it wasn’t picked up because of “lack of details.” It’s a frustrating thing that most wedding blogs are more concerned about the quantity of material things than the actual love and story between the couple and the quality of work. As a wedding photographer, this is something I struggle with, as I’m there to create and capture moments that will be handed down throughout time, but often find the industry I’m in is more interested in the production of a wedding and portraits aren’t a priority in posts. I know that not every wedding or image I post will be featured or seen by many, especially because of the changes that have happened in the past few years with Facebook and now Instagram, but I want my clients and other photographers to know that the VALUE of your art is not determined by these magazines or blogs. It’s appreciated and loved by your CLIENTS and that’s what matters most in this job. It’s easy to get down on yourself, but it’s more important to keep pushing the boundaries in your work and create images for your clients and for yourself. Thankful for such sweet and lovely clients who support and send messages to me after they receive their photos; that’s what keeps me creating!
