Kirsten + Chris // Lopez Island Winery Wedding
This wedding changed me in ways I could have never anticipated. Each frame that I took my love and passion for photographing weddings grew. These people. This light. Their love. It was magical and beautiful and I’m literally sitting here writing this with tears filling my eyes. It’s one of my favorites to date and it’s been over a year since it happened.
But it’s not just about the images I made that day, it’s about the friendship that grew from my first meeting with Kirsten (that lasted a few hours, mind you) and our adventure to Port Townsend to take Kirsten and Chris’s engagement photos that ended with a superb meal and a sleepy ferry ride back to Seattle. A friendship that has taken me from this perfect wedding day to backyard dinners, birthday dance parties, and drink and float days on Lake Washington. One that I know will last a lifetime because Kirsten and Chris are two of the most loving, kind and incredible people I have met in Seattle. I am going to miss our last minute hangs so much and it makes it really hard to leave this city.
This day was lighthearted and sweet combined with lots of belly laughs and meaningful toasts. At the ceremony Chris threw flowers into water for his late mother (something we sadly have in common.) There were tears shed and arms thrown into the air on a hot summer day at Fisherman’s Bay Preserve. The evening followed into to dancing under bistro lights and strolls through the vines at Lopez Island Vineyard.
Do yourself a favor and grab a glass of wine as you scroll through these. Cheers to you, Kirsten and Chris and the magic that is your love.
Can’t handle enough of them? Go check out their engagement session HERE.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Stephanie Dolen, who was my second shooter/photobooth runner/wine and meal sharer at this wedding. You’ll find some of her lovely images above.
