Kirsten + Chris // Engaged // Port Townsend, WA
Port Townsend is one of my most favorite spots in WA, so when Kirsten and Chris mentioned that they almost planned their wedding there and it’s a special place to them, I knew that we had to do engagement photos there! I love a good adventure and when your couple shows up at your door with mimosas for the ferry ride, you know it’s gonna be a good day.
We have become super close over these past few months, with dinners and backyard hangs, and I am over the moon to photograph their big day this weekend on Lopez Island! This will be my first San Juan island wedding of my own, so I’m pretty pumped. And word on the street is there is a llama farm on Lopez that hopefully we will be visiting on Saturday for portraits. If you know me, you know my love of llamas (my favorite photo of me in Peru last year is standing next to a llama and a Sierrian woman with the biggest child like grin on my face ever.) In high school, my friends and I used to make “llama faces” in photos and once even stumbled upon one in the middle of the night where we proceeded to take photos in the dark with our expressions on hand. Also I have a llama hanging from my mirror in my car named Selma.
Ok, enough about llamas and back to this sweet couple! Kirsten has the sweetest smile and most of the light that burst out of her comes from Chris goofing off. We had an incredible time laughing and running around Port Townsend and even ran into some deer that they were able to pose with for photos. I mean, who has an engagement photo next to a deer, really?! What a perfect day it was and it’s been so fun today to relive it! This weekend is going to be magic and I’m super excited to have my best friend Stephanie along to help me document it!
Now scroll down if you can even handle the cuteness that is about to explode all over your computer screen:
Pretty much straight out of a Wes Anderson film these two:
Oh hi, DEER friend!
