I've had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family for the past few years, so it was a treat to meet their newest addition and see their beautiful new home! I love an at-home newborn session because the little ones are comfortable in their own space, which allows me to really get great expressions and moments because there's almost an instant element of trust from them when I'm there. I find I have to be more creative with light, and it adds a bit of a challenge of letting them guide the shoot, sometimes taking me into places I wouldn't normally think of photographing. Also, having a 2 year old and a newborn can be a challenge, especially in a day full of meltdowns, but by me just taking a little extra time and being patient, I'm able to still create great images even if it seems like it's not "perfect" - and let's be honest, when is a day ever perfect with kids? 🙂 If you're in the Seattle area, I'll be in town February 8-13 and would love to schedule a session with your family!
